VIVO S1 Pro
The Dream is Not Illusory
We created a full CGI product spot to unveil Vivo’s new S1 Pro. Set in a dreamlike, illusory environment, the spot sways between reality and fantasy through photorealistic details of the phone and fairytale landscapes.
Our spotlight takes viewers on a mysterious, fairytale journey between dimensions to showcase the design, technicality, and capability of Vivo’s phone and brand.
Mid-saturated gradients of blue and pink envelop the spot and communicate a cute, girly feel while also being surreal and illusory.
A visual metaphor is created through scenes of a hand attempting to hold the device. The phone remains just out of reach and serves as a dynamic symbol for a woman pursuing her dreams.
Much of this project’s ideation was inspired by Midsummer Night’s Dream, a Shakespeare play. The play is a love story wrought with trickery and magic, collision and dissolution, and the confluence of fantasy and reality.
Research and Development
Below are images of our research and development for the project. Foremost in this stage of creation are sculpting and rendering a photorealistic human hand, environment and lighting explorations, and additional visual metaphors.
To cultivate a connection between fantasy and reality, we experimented with different visual portals. These also served to enhance the dreamy feeling throughout the spot.
